Astory about two magician making their separates show.Movie in excellance direction open suspense in pieces at perfect timing which gives extraordinary plot and excitements to the audience. The rivalry between Angier and Borden dominates the film. Obsession, secrecy, and sacrifice fuel the battle, as both magicians contribute their fair share to a deadly duel of one-upmanship, with disastrous results. Angier's obsession with beating Borden costs him Cutter's friendship, while providing him with a collection of his own dead clones; Borden's obsession with maintaining the secrecy of his twin leads Sarah to question their relationship, eventually resulting in her suicide when she suspects the truth. Angier and one of the twins both lose Olivia's love because of their inhumanity. Finally, Borden is hanged and the last copy of Angier shot. Their struggle is also expressed through class warfare: Borden as The Professor, a working-class magician who gets his hands dirty, versus Angier as The Great Danton, a classy, elitist showman whose accent makes him appear American.Film critic Matt Brunson claimed that a complex theme of duality is exemplified by Angier and Borden, that the film chooses not to depict either magician as good or evil.

1. The writer of the original novel by which the movie was inspired, Christopher Priest , shares his first name with the movie's director, Christopher Nolan.
2.The rivalry of both magicians is similar to the rivalry of the two great scientists of that time- Edison and Tesla, also mentioned/showed in the film.
In the film, Borden is enthusiastic to try dangerous tricks and is not afraid to try something new, unlike Angier, who is much more conserved and also much richer than Borden.Borden also claims to have found a masterpiece trick.
"Tesla was similarly enthusiastic to try Alternating currents, which was considered dangerous at that time, unlike Edison, who preferred to stick with Direct Currents. Also, Tesla firmly believed in his concept of Alternating currents, and believed that it would change the future, which it did"

In the beginning of the story, Angier is concerned that Borden had tied a tighter knot to Angier's wife for the underwater escape trick, and both of them seperate when Borden does, leading to Julia's death in the process.
"This is similar to the falling out of Tesla and Edison, when Edison doesn't acknowledge
the work of Tesla"
Borden is similar to Tesla in the story, while Angier is similar to Edison.
3. Alley, played by Andy Serkis, asks Angier to guess the object in his pocket, a simple trick. Andy played Gollum in the Hobbit trilogy and fails in the same trick.
4. Both of the magicians 'fail' in their final magic tricks- Angier fails to appear in the new transported man trick before his apparent death, Borden dies of hanging while his final words are 'abracadabra' , the words used by a magician before a magic trick.
5. Most of the events in the movie foreshadow the ending. a. Angier tries to sabotage the bullet catching trick and dies of a bullet wound. b. Borden sabotages the bird in a cage trick and kills the bird. Similarly, Borden is caught in prison and dies afterwards. c. Borden explains a magic trick-the fish bowl trick by saying that the magician lives to such extreme that he lived the trick in his own home. Borden eventually lives his transported man trick at home, being two different people. d. In the first bird trick, a boy cries saying that though the bird survived, his brother didn't. Borden would eventually face the same situation, and would let his brother die for the sake of the trick.
